Loisir Spa Tower Naha

Speaks of comfort and convenience

For the second voucher that I won in the Japan Travel lucky draws in April, we chose the Loisir Spa Tower Naha hotel. So, on the second day of our Okinawa trip we took the bus bound for Naha from the Okinawa Marriott Resort and Spa (first hotel voucher). Alighting at the Naha bus depot stop we hired a cab for the Loisir Spa Tower Naha. It was a very straight and short taxi ride from the Naha bus depot. On our arrival, the staff welcomed us at the entrance and escorted us to the Spa Tower reception upstairs. The entrance is through the Loisir Hotel and then atop the escalator is the reception desk for the Spa Tower Naha which is actually located in the adjacent building. The 2nd floor of the Loisir Hotel is connected to the 3rd floor of the Spa Tower through a colorful carpeted passageway lined by orange pillars on one side and local artworks on the walls.

At the reception counter we were asked to take a seat in the lobby. As we settled down, we were given hot face-towels and soon thereafter were offered Okinawa's local citrus drink and chocolates as we went about filling the minimal forms. Unlike Marriott, there were no complementary breakfast tickets offered here. With the basic formalities done, we were then guided through the curvy and artsy passageway connecting the two buildings.

We were given a Deluxe Twin room at the very end of the corridor at the 11th floor. On entering, the staff escorting us inquired if we wanted some special aroma in the room and then set our selected Chamomile fragrance in the aroma diffuser. The room was quite spacious, with a dark brown and orange decor, a blue wavy carpet, and cane furniture.

After a while we took the hotel's shuttle bus for Kokusai Dori that took us straight to the Palette Kumoji shopping mall. After a whole evening of street shopping we returned to the hotel pretty late and tired. Still we managed to make some regular enquiries at the reception about the local attractions and things to do before heading to the comfort of our room. There was this tempting outdoor ‘Wave Pool’ with an entry fee of ¥1000 and the last entry was till about 9 pm. As we would have had to really hurry for that, we decided to ditch it in favor of some relaxing in-room Shiatsu massage. It took us just a call to the spa and two ladies showed up with a set of towels and warming smiles. The massage was a dry one and was priced at ¥5000 for 40 min and was absolutely worth it.

Next morning through the hotel’s travel desk we reserved our seats on the ferry for the uninhabited Nagannu island and spent most of our day at the white sand beach enjoying the beautiful emerald waters. Back to the hotel by evening, we relaxed a while at the lounge checking mails and exploring the beautiful butterfly garden before starting off for the airport for our return flight back to Tokyo.
