If you're planning to travel to northern Okinawa why not skip the Okinawa Expressway and take the road less traveled to see more than tree-lined roads? Iha Park is a medium sized recreational park in Uruma City at the intersection of the Route 329 Bypass and Route 6. It has a long red slide that will beckon any passerby - or at least any passers by that happen to have children aboard. This park is a few years old but appears to be brand new with no wear and tear to be found. Kids will love the giant slide, the playground equipment, the cradle swings, and the jogging paths. Bring a football or soccer ball for the large open fields. The park is open to the public around the clock. There are ten parking stalls and plenty of parking on the surrounding streets.

Iha Park
A Childrens Park on the Route 329 Bypass in Uruma City

Community writer

Iha Park is a paradise for parents with restless children

When a cradle swing rocks a parent is always nearby

If you are skeptical about the diagnosis and treatment of foot ailments you could opt to perform pull ups instead

This red giant slide is fast; it's made of dozens and dozens of connected 2 meter long composite panels

The playground equipment for 6 to 12 year old children features connected multi-level structures with external zip lines, monkey bars and rope obstacles

The playground equipment for younger children is more pint-sized

There are two sets of very clean and new restrooms

The park feels deceptively big due to its sloping landscape and multiple features

The walkways are long enough to jog and appear to be brand new

The mysterious small cave contains a marker reading Shichian River but there is no water nearby to prove it

I've just learned of the Iha Castle Ruins near where Iha Park is and will try to find it soon.
