Living in Okinawa can mean never staying in a hotel on island, because the area is small enough that you can never be too far from home. Locals though like to descend upon the luxury hotels nevertheless to try the all-you-can-eat buffets that tourists feast on.The Tokyo Dai-ichi Hotel Okinawa Grand Mer Resort is the largest luxury hotel in Okinawa City. Its Dress Diner restaurant offers a daily buffet that is very fairly priced for the broad selection of quality entrees, soups, salad, beverages and dessert that are included.Located on the first floor of the hotel, the buffet is open to the public daily from 11:30 ~ 15:00 (15:30 on weekends) for lunch and 18:00 ~ 22:00 for dinner. Diners must be seated one hour before each meal period ends. The lunch buffet is 1,600 for adults, 700 yen for teenagers, and 500 yen for younger children. The dinner buffet is 3,500 yen for adults, 2,500 yen for teens, and 1,500 yen for younger children.

Make your own soba just the way you like it

Pay at the entrance of the Dress Diner, then choose a table

All of the entrees are labeled in Japanese only but Dress Diner diners can generally get an idea of what is offered by looking at each dish

Sweets!

Have it your way with a mixture of American, Italian and Japanese cuisine on your plate

Have it your own way with baby corn salad, chanpuru, chahan, pizza bread and fried potatoes

The salad bar

Your kids will like the cake, fruit, soft serve and Blue Seal ice cream - mine did

A very happy couple selecting their meal at the Dress Diner buffet
