Nara in the Rain

Tobihino on a rainy afternoon

If there is one thing you cannot count on in life- it’s the weather. So, it was going to be my first trip to Nara and decidedly it was going to be glorious. Long and behold, the day I arrived, it rained, and rained and then rained some more. While drenched on the slopes of Tobihino, I was met with kindred spirits by the herd. Hundreds upon hundreds of Sika deers roamed from all directions in staccato footsteps as though they were dancing in the rain. The sight was bewitching and hypnotic! Perhaps it’s true what they say- there is always a rainbow for those who look for it even in the stormiest of days.

Nice, I hadn't seen this more rural side of Nara before :)
