Over one thousand deer wander freely throughout Nara. Most of them crowd around Nara Park where "shika senbei" are sold and try to pry them out of the hands of tourists. Sometimes nice and sometimes a nuisance, these beautiful creatures have become one of the main attractions in Nara Prefecture.
