A Day in Nara

Explore Nara's stunning temples and feed the deer.

Nara is a perfect day out if you are in Osaka and Kyoto. Being about an hour from both locations, it is worth taking a trip to to see the Great Buddha Hall in Todaiji. Todaiji is one of Japan's most significant temples, housing one of the largest statues of Buddha in Japan. The site is absolutely stunning and the photos I have seen tend to undersell it. With its open parks and deer running around, Nara is perfectly suited for families.
