They are considered to be slow and noisy, they are not always on time, and normally they are quite packed with people; however, they are still my favorite way to move around the city. Why? Because they are cheap, they are fun to ride and you can get in contact with local people. It is like stepping back in time for a while. If you are in Nagasaki you should definitely try them out—not to miss!

The streetcar costs only 120 Yen per trip, regardless its length. You also can purchase a Day-Pass for 500 Yen, which allows an unlimited number of rides.

Streetcars daily hours of operation are from 06:15 to 23:28. It's very common to see people using the streetcar late at night.

Streetcars in Nagasaki are very popular, so they are often packed. Anyway, I still think they are lots of fun!

We definitely utilized these! The hills can definitely wear you out after a while. Distances seem much further than the kilometer amount stated when a big portion of it is uphill!

Nagasaki is my favorite city in whole Japan , and its lovely streetcar is one of the reasons. As you said for a cheap 1 day pass, I kept hopping on and off. Simply Amazing!
