People visit Miyagi's Kanahebisui Shrine to pray for luck in the business and financial realms, but it's also a popular spot for flower fans. During the spring months, the shrine grounds are filled with color thanks to a dedicated peony garden and a 300-year-old wisteria tree, and an annual festival takes place when the blooms are at their best.
Along with the bounty of floral beauty to enjoy during daylight hours, the peony garden will also be illuminated after dark.
If you plan to visit, please note that the festival admission fee is different depending on whether you visit during the day or evening sessions. Daytime admission (8.30am - 4.30pm) is priced at ¥300, but evening admission (5.30pm - 8.30pm) is priced at ¥600.
