Imagine a walk through the woods, listening to the ancient trees whisper their secrets to you as you pass beneath their branches. This is the Yasoen Park. Also called the Sendai City Wild Plants Garden, there is an abundance of beautiful trees and flowers that are worth seeing. There are flowers for each season, and lots of open spaces for children to run around. Plant enthusiasts will enjoy this park not only for the unique vegetation, but also for the chance to purchase plants. The entrance fee for adults is only 200 yen. The park can be easily accessed by bus from Bus Stop #11 at Sendai Station.

There is an abundance of wildflowers everywhere
This garden has a lot of open space that is great for picnics
One of the things I absolutely loved about this place was looking at the old trees that rose majestically to the heavens
This is pretty awesome. I'm not sure if those are roots or new plants, but they look like an army of protectors
The "Carex Podogyna" or "Raccoon Dog Orchid". It was the first time I saw this plant. Interesting, isn't it?
There are several of these Calla Lilies growing around the park
One of the many bridges over the streams running through the park
This flower looks like an orchid. It's quite lovely and it was one of the more popular flowers in bloom when I went
It was love at first sight when I saw these reflecting the golden rays of the sun
If you look closely enough, you'll see the marvels of nature in different patterns
There are even ferns growing here
It's not too late to visit! The azalea buds have yet to open
It's a lovely place to take a stroll and enjoy nature at your own pace
I don't know what this signifies but it's an interesting conversation starter
The Two Towers: Sendai edition!
There are several of these statues throughout the garden.
Yet another very interesting plant that I came across
Endemic to only certain parts of Japan, the Japanese Wood Poppy (shirane-aoi) is found in abundance here

Magical photos. I loved the line " ...listening to the ancient trees whisper their secrets to you as you pass beneath their branches."
