Shiogama is most famous for its shrine and sushi, but nothing can beat a walk around town. A short stroll from Honshiogama Station brought me to a quaint little pagoda and a temple. Beyond the pagoda lies a huge cemetery that winds its way to the top of a hill.
Despite walking through a cemetery, the towering trees and gentle sea breeze on a warm day created a peaceful atmosphere. After the enjoyable stroll I returned to the front of the station towards one of the walking paths that lead to Shiogama Shrine.
