The Sendai Uminomori Aquarium's Sake Aquarium night has been running annually since 2017, and it was originally designed to help revitalize the area after the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011. The event provides a way to showcase products from Miyagi's sake breweries in a unique setting, with representation from Kesennuma, Ishinomaki, Shiogama, and Yuriage cities.
