The Randen Tram is the best way to get around if you find yourself walking from Kinukake Road toward Sagano.
Get on at Kitanohakubaicho Station (北野白梅町駅). The first stop is Tojin Station(等持院駅)where you can visit Kinkaku-ji (also known as the Golden Pavilion or 金閣寺) if you don't mind a bit of a walk.
The second stop is Ryoanji station (龍安寺). Following that is Myoshinji station (妙心寺) and Omuro-Ninnaji (御室仁和寺).
Kinukake Road starts at the foot of Kinugasayama (衣笠山) and runs from a temple, Ninna-ji (仁和寺), to Kinkaku-ji. Thus by using the Randen Tram you can hit all the main temples.
An all-day ticket costs ¥500, which is much better than the normal price of ¥200 per trip! When you get off at Sagano, there is even more to experience! One example is the traditional and beautiful Kyoto Nishijin fabric stretched over lamps to show off their gorgeous colors and patterns at the Randen Sagano station.
Yes, I agree.
Kyoto has the distinct differences all through 4 seasons, this train makes us enjoy the views through from its windows.
