Takaraga-ike Koen (宝が池公園) a large park located in Kyoto City's Sakyo ward, a little north of the city center. It is close to the Kyoto International Conference Center and the nearest train stations are Kokusai-kaikan and Takaraga-ike. The main attraction of this park is the huge pond, ideal for families as well as couples and groups of friends. Definitely try a tour on one of those boats!

When was the last time you went boating?

Beautiful views! It's definitely worth walking these 20 minutes around the pond.

There are a lot of activities to keep children busy for hours.

Perfect place for a lazy Saturday.

Others come here just for the peaceful environment this park offers.

You have to try crossing one of these, it's fun!

A wonderful view of Kyoto's surrounding hills.

The path less traveled is always the one which interests me the most.

The walking path around the pond—looks larger than a usual pond in a city park, right?

Perfectly planned picnic with food and wine.

These kids were so curious; they kept on firing questions at their mother, who seemed to struggle a bit to always come up with the right answer.

I love fishes and so I spent a long time watching them.

The only statue I could in all the greenery.

Beautiful, isn't she?

It will cost you ¥1,000 to rent one of those boats for an hour.

You can get as close as you want to feed her; she was harmless.
