Not to be mistaken with Kyoto Arashiyama Orgel Museum (which charges an entrance fee), the two-story Kyoto Music Box Museum also located at Arashiyama is a retail shop that specialises in music boxes. Upon entering the shop, one will be mesmerised by the colours and exquisite designs of music boxes. Ranging from key chains to hanging clocks, delightful music tinkles upon one’s magic touch. The best thing of all? You can be the creator of your own original music box! Simply choose the tune that you want, prior to selecting the tiny ornaments that you wish to embellish your music box with. Combining visual arts and the beauty of sounds, I too became a creator of a music box!
