Located on Teramachi Street, about five minutes walk from Oike Street, Kodoji was originally part of a temple complex called Gyouganji, and is called by either name. It is the 19th temple of the Saigoku Kannon Pilgrimage, and is run by nuns. Although not large, it is a beautiful place with a peaceful atmosphere. If you walk along Teramachi Street you can also enjoy seeing the quaint antique stores, book shops and restaurants in that area.
