There is definitely something wonderful about seeing women in graceful kimono walking around under the cherry blossoms! In Kyoto you can see maiko-san, both genuine maiko, and dressed up tourists. If you want to try dressing up as a maiko, spring is a great time to do it! Apart from maiko, many other women in Kyoto wear kimono when they go and enjoy cherry blossoms.
