My second visit to the Hiiragiya Ryokan, in Kyoto, December 2014, brought me a lot of joy and positive emotion. The first time I visited here was in August and I immediately fell in love with this ryokan with all my heart and soul. This time I came to Kyoto for the autumn foliage, but I could not wait the whole day to finally pass back through the familiar entrance of the old ryokan and familiar staff welcoming me, "Welcome back!". You will never find another place just as traditional as this one anywhere on earth.
And now... can I invite you for dinner at Kyoto's Ryokan Hiiragiya, a place so much beloved by samurai and Japanese nobles in the past?
This time I decided to capture the entire dinner from start to finish, as it impressed me so much last time. Even when the served dishes were a bit different from last time, the perfect quality and unique taste told me that I made a good choice once again to spend my weekend here!
Dinner at Hiiragiya is an enchanting spectacle of taste and triumph of traditional Japanese cuisine. A beautiful girl in kimono with the Hiiragiya emblem appears just in time, gradually replacing each dish with the next.
It was just a celebration for body and soul!
I enjoyed every minute and dinner was just gorgeous!
