Walk from Yatsushiro Station in Kumamoto Prefecture for 10 minutes and you’ll reach Ryuo Shrine. It's just a few hundred meters from the Yatsushiro Grand Hotel. I’ve visited quite a lot of shrines in the past, but I have to say this one had one of the coolest. The name Ryuo means dragon king. As the name suggests, the shrine is filled with dragon designs. These works of art are dynamic and full of impact. This shrine is also famous for bringing good fortune and there are some miraculous stories relating how people's wishes came true.
