Whisky is an incredibly popular alcoholic beverage across the globe, and that holds true in Japan as well. The country's meticulous craftsmanship, attention to detail, and dedication to quality have made domestic whiskies highly regarded worldwide, and whisky appreciation and consumption have become an important part of the drinking culture here.
One way to get your whisky fix is at the Whisky Festival in Yokohama, a large-scale tasting event that brings together whiskies and spirits from around the world. Approximately 50 companies will be taking part in the two-day event, including big names like Suntory and Asahi alongside smaller independent breweries.
Nearly 80% of the whiskies and spirits at the exhibition booths in the venue can be tasted for free upon purchase of an admission ticket, but some expensive and valuable whiskies will require additional payment. Please note that food and merchandise purchases are also charged.
Tickets for session times on August 26th can be purchased here, and for August 27th here, with sales commencing on June 7th.
This event was succeeded by the Whisky & Spirits Festival in Yokohama in 2024.
