"The Diplomat’s House" is so lovely at dusk. The house was built in Shibuya, Tokyo in 1910 and then rebuilt in Yokohama's Yamate district in 1997. The owner was Sadazuchi Uchida, who worked in Shanghai, New York, Brazil, Sweden, and Turkey as a Japanese diplomat. The designer of the house (built in what is called the "American Victorian" style) was American architect, James McDonald Gardiner. For the holiday season, the entire house is decorated in an array of cheerful Christmas colors, and the dining room laid out for a Christmas dinner. An index of this series is here.
