The Sakura are in full bloom in Miura City! From late February to mid March, celebrate the 1,000 Kawazuzakura (the precursor to Somei-Yoshino cherry blossoms in Kanagawa prefecture) at the Miurakaigan Cherry Blossom Festival. The best way to access these beautiful cherry blossoms trees is to hop on the Keikyu Line Limited Express train bound for Misakiguchi and exit Miurakaigan Station. At the station, you can find many booths offering local produce and services. Follow the pink cherry blossom banners to guide you along the 1km path up to Komatsugaike Pond. Depending on the amount of foot traffic, the entire walk should take 15-20 minutes. Get your cameras ready because the cherry trees are waiting for you the minute you step foot off the train. Speaking of trains, how many colored trains will you see? I was able to spot a blue, red, white, and yellow train during my visit!
