Three temples are famous for their crabapple trees in Kamakura: Myohon-ji, Kosoku-ji, and this one: Kaizo-ji Temple. Kaizo-ji is a bit far from JR Kamakura Station, but if you come to Kamakura in spring, it is worth visiting. Besides the outstanding flowers of the crabapple, the temple also has cherry blossoms, spiraea, and karria blooming this season. Other highlights are a well near the gate and “16 wells” in the inner grounds of the temple. The “16 wells” are actually round holes where water gushes out.
