On the first day of my trip to Kamakura, it was stormy. I arrived late at Kamakura Prince Hotel, which is isolated from the hustle and bustle of tourist spots near JR Kamakura Station. It was good for tranquil vacation, but when it comes to eating, isolation causes problems. However Japanese Restaurant Kiyoyasu-tei saved me. It is the only Japanese restaurant inside the hotel, and although I had to fight my way through wind and rain to reach it (it is on the hotel grounds, but not connected to the hotel building), my effort was well rewarded. The dinner was so delicious! I finished it without any leftovers and wanted more! (it seldom happens to me) This restaurant is a subsidiary of Kiyoyasu-tei in Roppongi. You can try dining there if Kamakura is too far away for you!

My first dinner in Kamakura, Wagyu steak set! (wagyu is Japanese beef)

Mysteriously-lit entrance of Kiyoyasu-tei at night

High ceiling of Kiyoyasu-tei

It's spacious inside

Variety of choice on the menu. I chose a 3300 yen steak set.

An appetizer, vegetables, steamed rice and miso soup will be served with the main dish

This is the main dish, soft and juicy Japanese beef steak!

Staff hard at work near a counter with a vase of spring flowers

There are counter seats where customers can watch their food being cooked on a wide grill

After a hearty main dish, you want something sweet, don't you? Here's some matcha (green tea) ice cream for you!

Japanese crafts are displayed inside the window

They serve lunch from 11 AM to 2 PM as well as evening meals
