At the entrance to the aquarium, we are welcomed by a huge tank of water which features the marine ecosystems of Sagami Bay where Enoshima is located. In “Jellyfish Fantasy Hall” we can enjoy a magical atmosphere. Furthermore, you will learn here that the late Emperor Hirohito conducted research related to jellyfish. The pool for the Dolphin Show faces Enoshima beach, so enjoy the breeze from the sea, while watching the dolphins and their well-trained performance. The aquarium also offers an overnight program that seems pretty interesting.

Nice pictures! I was in Enoshima a couple of months ago, but did not know there was an aquarium.
I am also against animals being held in captivity, but we have studies for that, and I am sure there are plenty of zoos and aquaria with people who care about the animals, where animals get taken care of, taken out of their endangered statuses, and put back in nature when they seem fit.
What is happening in Taiji deserves media coverage, but that does not mean businesses like this one should be victimized. Get the facts first, and then judge.

I love the hermit crab photo!
Like the anonymous commenter before me, I am opposed to the dolphin hunt and keeping dolphins and whales in captivity. I do have doubts, however, about the effectiveness of shaming and flaming tactics. (Does "dolphinsaremurder" really think the article is poor quality, or is it just the subject she or he finds disagreeable?) There are people who do not know much about the issue, and I feel it is better to guide them to factual info than to put them on the defensive.
Good topic for discussion. I hope it leads more people to find out for themselves what is going on in places like Taiji.

In Taiji for 6 months every year, dolphins are driven into a narrow cove. the "trainers" arrive, select the "prettiest" to go into a life of slavery to entertain selfish humans who do not care that they were once wild free mammals, living in the sea with their family and swimming over 40km a day. The rest are butchered whilst they swim in the blood of their relatives. Do you have an understanding of how wrong this is? please do not go to see dolphins in captivity as by doing so you are condoning this slaughter. Dolphins and whales should be free, not food or held captive.
