Shukugawara 宿河原 is located in Kawasaki city in Kanagawa prefecture. Shukugawara is famous for its cherry trees which line an agricultural waterway which was built in 1611. About 400 cherry trees were planted along a 2 km stretch of the waterway. You can walk along the edge of this waterway so this is a popular spot for the locals to sit under the trees and enjoy Hanami (cherry blossom viewing) in early April. This waterway is not only beautiful for cherry blossoms but also for its new green shoots and autumn leaves. The nearby Fujiko Fujio Museum is famous for story of Doraemon, a popular cartoon character. Like the Ghibli Museum, you must purchase your tickets in advance, through Lawson, and there are 4 entrance times per day (10:00, 12:00, 14:00 and 16:00).
