In the small and peaceful city of Kuji located in north Iwate Prefecture, this small and pretty park stands in a high place overlooking the city. Tatsumiyama Park is a great place to spend some of your time while visiting Kuji. It is really close to the tourist information center, so it's very easy to access. There are three main parts to this park. The first one is the big playground where everyone of any age can enjoy themselves. Second are the benches where you can sit and admire the beautiful scenery of Kuji City from above. And the last is Tatsumiyama Hill Shrine, located inside the park. Actually, this park has been part of the landscape of Kuji for quite a long time. However, it was also renovated as part of the recovery work conducted following the tsunami of March 2011. Tatsumiyama Park is a quiet and relaxing place where locals and visitors alike can sit and relax their minds while enjoying the view.
