About Hitachi

Hitachi is a city in Ibaraki prefecture by the Pacific Ocean that is great for viewing flowers all year round. Currently, the city has a population of around 183,000.

The most famous place for flower viewing is Hitachi Seaside Park, where a sea of flowers – in blue, green, or red depending on the season – spread out endlessly. However, that is not the only place to catch beautiful blossoming flowers in the city.

In the city, Kamine Park is one of Japan’s top 100 places to view cherry blossoms due to its night time illumination, which makes the area look magical. There is also a zoo and an amusement park within the area.
