"Watercolors of Hokkaido" is a special exhibition taking place at the Hokkaido Asahikawa Museum of Art. The event looks into artworks using this medium - which is often loved because of its ease of use - from the Meiji era up until the present day.

The exhibition will also delve into the history of Hokkaido and how that has evolved through art, with a specific focus placed on the works of Susumu Sato, a watercolor painter who hails from Asahikawa itself.

Adult admission to the event is 800 yen.

Getting there

The Hokkaido Asahikawa Museum of Art is located approximately 20 minutes on foot from JR Asahikawa Station, served by the Hakodate Main Line, the Soya Main Line, the Sekihoku Main Line, and the Furano Line.

For those who are driving, the museum is located on the grounds of Tokiwa Park, and there are four free parking lots available on-site which are open from 9 am until 5 pm.
