Cafe Heart n Tree is a nostalgic little cafe situated on a hillside overlooking Tsurui Village just a 45 minute drive from Kushiro in eastern Hokkaido. The family-run cafe has specialized in 100% locally sourced produce for almost 15 years, most of which is grown in the gardens of the cafe itself. The meals at the cafe are nothing short of spectacular, and Hattori-san the chef, takes pride in explaining exactly where the ingredients come from. The cafe serves a range of meals including pizza, pasta, salads, cheese platters and succulent curry dishes. I highly recommend the curry dishes and the freshly baked pumpkin bread. The cafe is a five minute drive from Tsurui Village off Route 53, and is open from 10:00 ~ 17:00 everyday except Thursdays.

Heart n Tree produces their own cheese year round

The cafe interior is beautifully decorated with a great homely atmosphere

The Heart n Tree cafe and surrounding gardens are some of the most peaceful and enjoyable ones I have visited

The friendly pet goats enjoy the attention from visitors

The freshly baked pizza features 100% locally sourced ingredients

The friendly pet goat enjoying the view of the Tsurui farmlands

The succulent curry is up there among the best dishes I have enjoyed in Japan

The cafe serves a wide range of meals and drinks, but the menu sometimes does change depending on produce availability

The presentation of each dish is spectacular, Hattori-san the chef will also inform you of where all the ingredients came from

Such a lovely place! The close-ups are so well done, I feel like I can almost taste the food. :)
