Considering that Hiroshima is a port city, a good plan for a summer afternoon is going on a cruise ship around the coast. The plan seems even more appealing when you learn that there are private yachts that will take you to Miyajima, where you will enjoy a fantastic view of its partly underwater O-Torii gate against the summer sunset. The trip is around four hours long in which you will be able to have dinner inside the boat, or lay down and take the best nap of your life in the net located in the front of the yacht. All in all, a perfect way for both adults and children to pass away a hot summer day yachting around the Seto Inland Sea.

Yacht Cruise around Hiroshima
Enjoying the Seto Inland Sea at sunset

Community writer

It departed late in the afternoon, so we could enjoy the sunset over the Seto Inland Sea.

The boat is a high class catamaran which sits 12 people.

Bring your own food and drinks to enjoy on the yacht.

On our way to Miyajima we saw the retro American-style outlet mall and its large ferris wheel.

The seto inland sea offers some nice views of the islands located in the ocean.

There are also day and night cruises, but the view of the sunset cruise is probably the best.

The sea was quiet and calm and the ocean breeze invited you to relax and, possibly, fall asleep in the net.

We passed by several big ships and touristic cruises.

Just before the sun disappeared completely behind the horizon, we reached Miyajima.

For safety reasons, it is mandatory to wear life vests while walking around the front of the boat.

The trip was great fun, especially for the kids, who enjoyed hanging out in the front of the ship.
