When you get the chance in Maebashi city, come visit the Prefectural Office of Gunma. Excluding Tokyo Metropolitan Government Tower, it is the tallest prefectural government building in Japan, towering at 153 meters and 32 floors. There is a free observatory on the 32nd floor where you can see panoramic views of the city and the mountains. Below on the 31st floor, there is a restaurant where you can eat while watching the city below. From Maebashi Sakura Hotel the Prefectural Office is only a 10 minute stroll away.
