Pearched on the top of a hill in Misaki Park, the Marine Tower is a popular sightseeing spot in Iwaki City. Standing 60 meters tall, the open-air observation deck at the top commands fantastic views of lovely sandy beaches to the north, an industrial zone to the south, and spacious grassy fields just below. The Tower is open from 9 to 5, last entry is at 4:30. It is open until 7pm in the summer. Entrance fee: 320 yen for adults, less for children.

An elevator takes you to the top of the tower.

After taking the elevator, be sure to walk up the steps to the roof. The view from inside is not as impressive.

View toward the industrial south. The Aquamarine Aquarium can be seen in the center-right (glass building).

Misaki Park is full of grassy lawns, nature walking trails, playgrounds, and more.

This strange contraption sits along the top edge of the tower.

The park is a great place for a family to have a picnic.

This building sits just below the tower and contains the 'Seafood Restaurant Mexico'.

A sign for the restaurant. It was closed on my visit, so I was unable to look at a menu.

However, this sign was just outside the restaurant's entrance. Not very Mexican, but their 'take out menu' looks tasty!
