This hidden mountain garden in the south of Japan cries out for love each spring at the end of April and beginning of May. That’s when the wisteria bloom, and Kawachi Fuji-en displays them like no other place (photos here and here). 200 meters of tunnels, two domes, and two large trellises hold the twisting branches of wisteria vines, while the flowers hang down below them for an extraordinary experience of scent and color. Let's take a walk through the gardens on a rainy day.
