There are tons of attractions in Mojiko within walking distance from JR Kyushu Mojiko Station and just a short ride from downtown Kokura and the Hotel Crown Palais there. But you still can get tired from walking around all day. Fortunately, the former Japan Customs is a great place to rest. It is the oldest building in the area and was built in 1912. The first floor is a rest area for visitors and the second floor is a gallery that introduces the role of customs. It is really interesting to see examples of how drug dealers try to smuggle illegal drugs into the country. There's an observatory on the third floor.

Several places to sit and relax in the building

Even at the public phone you're surrounded by retroness

Fake brand items displayed

Illegal animal items are also displayed

Amazing to see how some drug dealers try to bring in illegal items

Amazing to see the dedication of smugglers

Interesting place! Indeed, smugglers seem creative, but if these items were seized, it means they got caught!
