I knew there is a hiking trail called 'Ajisai Road (hydrangea path)' on Mt. Asuwa, but didn't know the hydrangea is a flower symbol of Fukui City. Also, even though I walked there many times before, I'd never seen hydrangeas along the path, since it wasn't a season for them when I went (poor timing!). So, I was quite surprised to find so many hydrangeas on this mountain - about 6,000 spread across it. The trail is not steep, so it's an easy climb up to the top of the mountain and you can enjoy a casual hike while appreciating beautiful flowers on the way.

They are some of my favorite flowers so I'm always on the lookout for them during rainy season!

I'm starting to think you and I share a very similar love of flowers, Takako, judging by our recent posts! ;)
