When I was driving back home from seeing carp streamers, cherry trees and daffodils in Sabae City, I spotted something yellow in the vast green fields that spread toward the mountains. It was cloudy and the fresh yellow color in a gray scenery looked very striking. Intrigued, I drove toward the yellow color. What I found were endless patches of field mustard flowers. I was all alone in the vast yellow fields and of course I imagined myself as Alice in Wonderland! I wanted to roll over and around in the yellow paradise like a child but the adult inside me quite mercilessly stopped me. Later I learned that these flowers would be used to fertilize the fields to grow rice. If you ask me, I'd prefer heavenly flowers to rice!

These yellow flowers were all around me!
When I was driving home, a brilliant yellow color among green fields jumped into my sight. Surprised and curious, I decided to check them out.
When I got closer, I found field mustard spreading endlessly to the mountains.
Can you imagine how overwhelming this sight is when seen with your own eyes?
