It was mid August and some of the lotus flowers had died already, but other flowers were just starting to bloom

The stem of this lotus is unique and curvy

Best season of her life

Wind-blown pink lotus, yet beautiful

Curvy stems, pretty petals and large leaves with clear veins...they are just beautiful

Pink and white in the dark

Unique lotus receptacle resembling beehive

After a storm, rain drops are here and there on the leaves

What a deep, gorgeous color!

Contrast of large green leaves and the curvy stems is quite interesting

Petals of lotus look they drop off easily, but they somehow cling to receptacles even during a storm

Round shape of this lotus is really cute

Light green and deep pink

This one was hiding behind leaves

Hanahasu Koen (Lotus Park) in Southern Echizen, Fukui, has an extensive collection of lotus (100 kinds from around the world) in its vast fields (they have lotus fields just across the street from the park). It truly is a photographer's heaven if you are interested in taking close-up photos of flowers. Since it's not a pond but a field, you can walk through the paths and take photos of them up-close to your heart's content!
