Autumn is synonymous with harvesting, as fields unveil golden crops and orchards bear fruit. Many events across Japan celebrate the bounty of the season, including the Towada Autumn Festival, a three-day affair which is filled with colorful floats, mikoshi (portable shrine) parades, taiko drumming performances, and traditional yosakoi dancing.

Getting there
The event takes place around Sanbongi Boulevard and the Towada City Government Office. The general area can be accessed in around 20 minutes by taxi from Shichinohe-Towada Station, which is served by the Tohoku Shinkansen line.
