When we hear "Tohoku" we tend to think about the disaster in 2011, however, once you go and see what's going there, you will be surprised. Discover a rare and calm beauty in Aomori's natural landscape, go back in time at a historic temple in Hokkaido or experience a traditional Japanese 'Kanto' festival in Akita.

Aomori: All you see is green and calm water, all you hear is the murmur of the stream here at Oirase Keiryu
Oirase River in Aomori: Another shot, another natural beauty
Beautiful contrast during the Aomori summer
Hokkaido: Contemplate the legend of Yoshitsune at Yoshitsune temple
Hokkaido: The main gate of Yoshitsune Temple

Hi Akane, I hope you enjoyed your trip to Akita. I am looking forward to reading some Akita specific articles in the future. The Kanto Festival is coming up soon! https://en.japantravel.com/akita/akita-kanto-lantern-festival/2183

Some good photos here, however I was a little disappointed. I felt the northern Japan focus is much too broad to capture with a few random photos of Hokkaido, Aomori, and Akita. You mention Tohoku, but then include Hokkaido pictures. Maybe if this was a more focused topic such as Tohoku festivals, nature in the north, or historical locations north of Nikko, I would have been happier. I hope to see more of your photos and articles, but with a more concentrated approach.
