From late March to early April each year, the banks of the Gojo River in Iwakura come alive with the color of 1400 cherry trees in bloom. An annual festival is held to celebrate their ethereal beauty, and it also typically includes evening illuminations (up until 9 pm), parades, crafts, and cultural performances.
Like all flower events, the official dates can be subject to change from year-to-year depending on blooming conditions. It's advisable to check the official event website before attending for a definite confirmation.
Admission to the festival is free of charge.
